Want to Make a Romantic Gift For Him on Valentines?
Homemade Gift Ideas for Your Boyfriend
Chuck the cliched romantic gifts available at every other shop, here are some great homemade gift ideas for your boyfriend…
Glittery red hearts, crimson roses and mush around…Yes I know the Valentine’s day might be over but for those who are struck by the cupid once, love is always in the air…This Valentine’s day as I strolled through the gift stores amidst the stereotypically cute white teddy bears with red cushioned hearts and heart shaped candy boxes that failed to amuse me, I realized that no gift store made for the ‘perfect gift’ that I was looking for.
Although I was a bit apprehensive to give a handmade gift to my boyfriend, I decided to go for it this time. I bought a sheet of handmade paper, some cute glittery stickers, colors pens and headed back home. Drawing upon my geography knowledge, I drew a miniature map of the city I live in. Once the map was in place, I marked all the hangout places that my boyfriend and I frequented. The place where we first met, our first date, our first movie at the multiplex, and so on, once I was done with the markings, I placed a cute glittery stick on at every marking and added some funny quotes and messages for him. I scrolled it up and tied it with a red satin ribbon. Nervous about giving him a handmade gift, I decided to pair it up with some regular stuff like chocolates and cards. As the day passed and our date was about to end, I handed the map to him. Once he saw it, the expression on his face said it all. He said it was the best gift I could’ve got him!
Ever since I’ve decided to make it a point to make handmade gifts for him for every special occasion. Handmade gifts are a unique and wonderful way to say you care. Below I have compiled for you some of the best homemade gift ideas for you to gift your boyfriend. Some of these are my own ideas, some have been tried and tested by my girl pals, and some I’ve picked up while watching romantic movies and soaps, but rest assured that each one of them would make his heart melt… Homemade Gift Ideas for Your Boyfriend The Romantic Map Yes, think of all the places where you guys went out together. The first date, the first movie, the first kiss, his favorite restaurant, the coffee place where you spent hours gazing into each other’s eyes…al this and much more. Make a map of your city, and mark all these special places. Use glitter, stickers and loads of colors to make your map attractive. In case you want to make it look like a real one, mark the latitude and longitude lines with a pencil. To give it a rustic look, burn the edges at the corners to make it look like an old map. When you are done, roll it up and tie it with a satin ribbon. To make it more interesting, place the map in a wooden chest that appears like a treasure box. Photo Key chain This homemade gift is quite a mushy and romantic gift, but it is also useful as a key chain. Collect some good snaps of the two of you together, and take small sized prints of all these snaps. Once you have the prints, get every snap laminated with a plastic coating to protect it from water and other damage. Now punch holes at the top of every photograph. Once you’ve punched the holes put these into a simple key ring to create a very romantic personalized key chain for your boyfriend. Memory Collage
The movie tickets from your first date, your high school snapshots, the egg shells from the day he made you breakfast in bed, the gift wrapper for your first gift, a tissue paper from his favorite coffee shop, the first rose that he gave you…If you are the one who collects such things, then this is the gift idea for your boyfriend. Get a big cardboard piece and stick all these little memories on to it. Once you’re done sticking all the things, draw hearts and fill up the spaces with love messages and quotes.
The Ultimate Romantic Scrapbook A scrapbook is a great way to capture the fond memories forever. In case you don’t want to buy a scrapbook kit, just make customized scrapbook pages at home by cutting a chart paper. Use innovative ideas to decorate the scrapbook. Paste pictures, paper flowers, draw sketches, graffiti, quotes and your personal messages on every page. Use stickers, newspaper cutouts and sketch pens to decorate the book. Write what you feel about him, the way you felt when you first met him and so on. The Book I remember reading this idea somewhere on the net. It is an awesome idea sure to hit the target. This idea is for people who chat a lot using the Internet messengers. The idea is pretty simple, just copy and paste all your chats into a word document, get it printed on a good quality paper with golden edges. Hard bind the pages and make a book and give a romantic title, which should be embossed on the front cover. A book that contains your online chats…now that’s romantic! Handmade Knits Some of you might find this a tad bit old fashioned, but go for it if you know how to knit. You can knit a great sweater or a muffler for your boyfriend. You can personalize it by adding his initials on the sweater to make him feel truly special. You can even create personalized hankies for him as a gift. It is a very romantic idea, and most guys would love it. Also every time he wears the sweater, he’ll think of you and will instantly have a smile on his face. Cookies and Chocolates If you are a great cook, and your guy is a foodie, then this is the idea for you. A freshly baked pan of cookies will do the trick. Bake his favorite cookies and make them heart-shaped to make the gift truly romantic. You can toss the fresh cookies into a cute basket and top it with some ribbons, and a cute greeting card attached to the basket. You can also print a personalized romantic message on every cookie, to make it more romantic. You can make some chocolates at home and fill the basket with cookies, chocolates and some nuts and flowers to make an assorted gift basket for him. Try out one of these ideas and rest assured that your boyfriend will love your gift. Handmade gifts speak volumes of the effort that you put in to express your love, so the next time you are gift-hunting for your boyfriend, just try making something for him on your own and how him how much you care…
